OPTIONAL SERVICES

DNS name services
DNS is an acronym for Domain Name Services. Whenever you access a remote site the name that you type in is converted into an IP number for routing through the Internet. For example the name www.pld.com is converted into IP number 206.253.33.211. Every IP number that is assigned from Pioneer is automatically given a name in the domain pld.com. Users with a static IP number may wish to individualize their identity with their own domain name. In order to get a domain name Pioneer will coordinate with the domain authority and build the required files to point the users name to their static IP number.

Virtual E-Mail server
If a user has their own domain name they may want to receive e-mail to their own domain name. So for example if a user has registered a name sample.com, they may want to receive e-mail at fred@sample.com. Either the user can bring up their own e-mail server and handle mail internally or they can chose to let Pioneer host their mail. Pioneer offers virtual e-mail services to users with a domain name. This service allows users to utilize Pioneer's e-mail server to send and receive e-mail.

Additional Computers
By default DSL devices allow 1 computer to receive an IP address. For users with multiple computers or networks you can connect multiple PC's to a single DSL device. Depending upon the size of the network and security involved additional equipment may be required, and additional fees may apply.

Additional Bandwidth
The default download speed for a DSL device connection to the Internet is 384 kbps to 6 MB, depending on your package purchased from Basic to Premium Plus. This is usually much more speed than the remote site can send data to even multiple PC's. If a user is connecting a large number of computers or an enterprise network they may request additional speed to the DSL.
