The next step in the setup process is creating an Internet e-mail account:
Select the option Yes and click on the "Next" button to begin
setting up your e-mail account.
Type in your real name in the Display name box, for example:
Joe Bloggs
Click on the "Next" button to continue.
Enter your e-mail address in the E-mail address field. Your e-mail address
is your username followed by "@pld.com". For example:
userid@pld.com
Click on the "Next" button to continue.
Make sure that the first box on the screen contains POP3.
In the Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server box, type in:
mail.pld.com
Similarly, in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type in:
mail.pld.com
Click on the "Next" button to continue.
Make sure that the option Log on using is selected, and then enter your
username in the POP account name field, for example:
userid
Also, you need to enter your password into the Password box. Note that for
security reasons your password is displayed as a series of *'s on the screen.
You will not be able to see the actual password when you type it in.
Click on the "Next" button to continue.
In the Internet mail account name field you can enter a name of your e-mail
account, like:
UserId
Click on the "Next" button to continue.
The next step in the installation process is to set up your internet news
account and save the Internet Connection Wizard's settings.
Select the Yes option, and click on the "Next" button to
continue.
Type in your real name in the Display name box, for example:
Joe Bloggs
Click on the "Next" button to continue.
Enter your e-mail address in the E-mail address field. Your e-mail address
is your username followed by "@pld.com". For example:
userid@pld.com
Click on the "Next" button to continue.
In the News (NNTP) Server field, type in the following:
news1.pld.com
Click on the "Next" button to continue.
In the Internet news account name field you can enter a name of your e-mail
account, like:
User Id
or you can simply leave it as the default
Click on the "Next" button to continue.
Select the No option, and click on the "Next" button to continue.
Click on the "Finish" button to save the Internet Connection Wizard
settings.
You have successfully created a Pioneer dial-up connection, an e-mail
account and a news account.
